What is a sangha and what do we do?
If you aren't familiar with the term "sangha", it means a community of friends practicing mindfulness meditation and mindful living. This is a time to step away from our busy lives - to stop, to be quiet, to be aware, to smile - among friends.
- Please arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to settle in.
- You may notice that some of us put our hands together and bow. This is simply a sign of respect and recognition. We bow with all sincerity. "A lotus for you, a Buddha to be, " Thich Nhat Hanh
- All are welcome. We are building community. This is a safe space. No experience necessary.
- Meditation sessions are fully guided in the Plum Village Tradition following the sound of the bell, including guided, walking, and sitting meditation, readings and recordings of Thay’s teachings, social tea break, and mindful sharing.
- You are welcome to bring your own meditation cushion. Chairs are provided if you prefer. Please remove your shoes before the session begins.
- Attendance is free of charge. Free-will offering towards cost of breaktime tea/cookies appreciated.
